animal exhibi[tion]

As mentioned in the previous post, we were able to spend a few days with my family over Labor Day weekend, which is most exciting because that means I got to spend time with Ellie!

\

On Monday, we hung out in the morning with a big breakfast, and then kind of spur of the moment, we thought it would be fun to have a family outing to the Riverbanks Zoo, which is nearby in Columbia. We spent the whole afternoon, and then just left from there to go our separate ways. It was quite fun! Check it out...

They actually let you in the fenced area with the kangaroos... no cage/glass between you and them.

However, there was thankfully a piece of glass between us and this guy...

Moving on to the elephants...

And ginormous turtles...

I loved the giraffes, mainly because they were up close and personal!

\

Fun times with Onnie!

Check out these guys, who were both quite curious!

Ellie rode a pony...

Then Onnie, Papa, & Jen Jen rode in the caboose of the train with her...

On to the monkeys, who were having quite the heyday! So loud!!

Koala, flamingo, and penguins, oh my...

On to the reptiles...

And Ellie loved the fish! I think because we were right next to them. All the other animals were so far away, but the fish came right to you!

And of course she loved feeding the birds!

What a great day! It was SO sad to leave.

Happy birthday, Mary Mac!!
