Jen & Mansel's wedding celebra[tion]

You may remember some of the gifts & cards that we've given to our friends Jen & Mansel in preparation for their wedding. We went to an engagement party here, and a shower here. Well, they finally got married this weekend! Woohoo!

The wedding was gorgeous. And it was also a trip down memory lane, since they got married in the same church that Brian and I got married at in 2009. I didn't get to snap any photos of their wedding, but here's a photo from our wedding to jog your memory...

The reception was held at Hibernian Hall which was gorgeous and just a short walk from the church, so very convenient. We entered into a vestibule with black & white checkered floor and a double-height space under a plaster dome above. This is where the cocktail hour was held, and they had an open bar and passed hors d'oeuvres including miniature bbq sandwiches, shrimp & grits spoons, tuna, and mini-quiches. It was all delicious.

Eventually we moved to the upstairs ballroom, where the formal sit-down dinner was held. This is unusual for the South, but the bride is from New Jersey, so it's tradition! A salad started the meal, followed by a shrimp cocktail, a sorbet palate-cleanser, and steak & crab cake with asparagus and potatoes. It too was delicious.

I did manage to take a few photos (with Brian's phone) during their first dance. Sorry, the quality is definitely not good. I was avoiding using the flash, and they were moving, hence the extreme blurriness. This is unfortunately the only picture I have from the reception.

A trend that we've seen at the past couple of weddings we've been to is the photo booth! I'm not sure if Amelia and Dan were the actual wedding photographers or not, but they had set up The Booth, with various props including hats, sunglasses, moustaches, lips, miniature chalkboards for writing messages on, etc. Thought you might enjoy seeing some of mine & Brian's photos, as well as me with friends Angie & Jen.

The Booth was quite the hit, and it appears I was a fan of the moustaches!
