Halloween decora[tion]s - part 2

Welcome to Part 2 of my Halloween decorating... fun with cardstock!

If you read this blog, you probably know my love of Pinterest, and the next few ideas came from there. I would show you my inspiration images, but they are MUCH better than my final products turned out, so we'll just move on to that!

Basically, all you need is:
  • black construction paper/cardstock
  • scissors
  • double-stick tape
I started with bats!

Take sheet of paper, fold in half, cut out approximately 4 bats per sheet, hang wherever you want! As you see, mine are on the front porch!

I realize it's quite subtle from the street, but it makes me happy nonetheless!  And because I alternated which wing I taped down, it truly looks like they are flying, especially when the wind blows!

Next up, rats!

Yes, I'm facing my fears and displaying paper rats on our front stairs! Follow same steps as above, but don't fold paper over, and instead of cutting out bats, you may want to sketch out the silhouette of a rat, and then cut. I wish I could provide you a template or something, but this was my best effort at eyeballing it.

Fun, right? These also make me smile, so even if no one else even notices them, I'm fine with that! As long as it doesn't attract 'real' rats!

And in all of this Halloween hubbub, the master bath mirror started looking like a full moon to me, so I thought I'd add some bats there as well!
